Financial aid

NSU’s Office of Student Financial Assistance administers various federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. Financial aid information and applications are available on the Office of Student Financial Assistance home page. For assistance with financial aid, students should contact this office at 800-806-3680.

Procedure to Apply for Financial Aid

Apply for financial aid at the same time you submit your application for admission to the NSU BrainSMART Program. As it takes 4-6 weeks to complete the financial aid process, please apply as soon as possible. The financial aid process often takes longer than the application process, so it is important to plan ahead. Although you may begin the financial aid process immediately, you will not be able to receive your aid until you are fully admitted to the university. In order to be fully admitted, you need to turn in the following:

1. Application form completely filled out
2. $50.00 check payable to NSU (Application fee)
3. All official transcripts (no copies). Note that you must submit transcripts from every college or university you attended - even if you did not earn a degree from that institution. This includes junior and community colleges even if you transferred credits to another university.

Send all items to the following address:

BrainSMART/NSU Graduate Programs
Attn: Donna Wilson, Ph.D.
127 W. Fairbanks Avenue; #235
Winter Park, FL 32789-4312

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and send it to the address on the application. Or, fill out the application online. LINK:  http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/  Include the NSU’s Title IV School Code (001509) and address (3301 College Ave.; Fort Lauderdale, FL; 33329-9905).
